Our Trickle In Activity for May was to create heart window catchers for our mothers or another influential woman in our life.
Our Sibshoppers wrote "Love Notes" to their mothers and expressed their gratitude for wonderful women!
Our Sibshoppers LOVE a spirited game of Balloon Foot Volleyball! They complain after awhile about their sore arms from maintaining the crab position, but what doesn't kill ya makes you stronger, right?!
You are only allowed to use your feet and your head to volley the balloon. Our kids sometimes succumb to the temptation of using their hands.
Having two or three balloons going keeps everyone involved and having fun.
We had a really great discussion activity after watching an excellent video about having a sibling with special needs. You can watch it HERE.
Our Sibshoppers are so willing to share their experiences (the good, the bad, the so-so) of having a sibling with special needs. They make great connections with one another and it is our hope that those shared experiences will strengthen each of them individually and in their homes.
We were lucky to have Cameron join us as a volunteer this month! He set up the most ridiculously fun obstacle course.
Another of our classic discussion activities is the "M&M Game." We are all a little more motivated to share our experience when chocolate is on the line! You answer the color coded question, you get to eat that color of chocolate candy. Some of are questions are silly while some require a little more introspection. It is a sweet way to get the kids talking!
We have an amazing group of Sibshoppers! They are fun, smart, kind, brave kids!
Don't be sad, we'll see you next month!
