Welcome to our August Sibshop.
We created some crazy collage portraits with magazine cutouts for our trickle in activity. Our Sibshoppers are so creative and their portraits were awesome. It was a super fun activity!
Our next activity was designed for fun (as always) and to work on practicing impulse control. Sometimes the best way to approach a task is by slowing down and being intentional rather than using speed and brawn. Everyone loves the "Crepe Paper Maze."
After a safe escape from the maze, we enjoyed an activity called "Feelings On A Rope". Our Sibshoppers place themselves on the rope where they feel best represents how they feel about the topic. One end is "Love It!" and the other is "Hate It!" Topics included pineapple on pizza, riding a roller coaster, having friends over when your sib is home, being asked to babysit your sib with special needs, starting school and more. Some topics brought out serious reactions and others not so much. We loved hearing what our Sibshoppers had to say.
"Uno Card Challenge" was a new game to our group. Turned out to be a hit.
Lunch and a little book reading was up next.
We enjoyed this book about being a little different wanting to fit in.
We wrapped up today's Sibshop my trying another new quick game. We called it "Noggin Cup". You lay on the ground and balance a red solo cup on your forehead. Then you try and stand up without the cup falling off your head. Sounds simple, but it takes some dedicated practice to get it right. Our Sibshoppers turned to be pretty great at it!
We look forward to seeing you in September!
