Welcome Back to Sibshops, year 2011! We are excited about the upcoming year and started off with a bang by celebrating Chinese New Year.
The kids created Chinese Dragons for our trickle-in activity.

The brightly colored dragons were perfection!

We then showed off our crafy talents by taking our dragons on a "Dragon Parade" through the building where a large group of volunteers were working. The kids were a tad embarrassed, but smiled and strutted their stuff! :)

Clayton led us in a traditional Chinese children's game called "Knocking the Stick". Getting those sticks to line up just right in the boundaries was not as easy as it looked.

With a little help from Panda Express, we enjoyed a "traditional" (wink wink) Chinese Lunch of rice, noodles, veggies, chicken and a fortune cookie for dessert.

Some of the kids even gave chopsticks a try!

We paper crafted some of our very own fortune cookies for ourselves and our siblings. We tucked our hopes and dreams for the new year tightly inside.

Happy Chnese New Year!
