Welcome 2025!
A new calendar year means a new fantastic year of Sibshops of Utah County . We were excited to get the new year rolling with our first Sibshop of the year 2025.
The cold January temperatures inspired our trickle in snowman activity. Roll-A-Snowman made us all smile.
You roll a dice to find out what accessory you will be drawing on your snowman. Roll a 1, you draw a hat, roll a 6 and you draw a mouth. If you happen to roll multiple 1s then you will draw multiple hats! It was fun to see how ridiculous the snowmen turned out.
We then spent some time with introductions and going over rules and expectations before engaging in an epic paper snowball fight! Some of our paper snowballs had fun facts about our Sibshoppers and as we battled we read out the fun facts and guessed who they matched up to. We got some great exercise and got to know one another better.
After the workout that was our snowball fight, we sat down together and discussed artists with different disabilities. We talked about VanGogh, Beethoven, Stevie Wonder and other artists who have created fantastic art. Our Sibshoppers were equally excited to share that their siblings with special needs are artists as well. We decided that we ought to do some "Sightless Sculpture." This creative opportunity means one participant is a blind scultptor, one participant is a statue and another participant is a piece of clay to be molded by the blind sculptor.
Minute to Win It games were next on the agenda. The Sibshoppers had a great time trying out all sorts of fun games.
We munched on lunch and devoured some ice cream floats and called it a day.
It was a great start to 2025!
