Welcome to our March 2024 Sibshops!
We started our workshop by creating some clever "Cursive Name Characters."
Following our trickle in activity, we gathered together to get to know one another better. We reviewed our "Rules & Expectations" and then did introductions and shared a little bit about our families. Then it was time to get hearts pumping with a crazy fast game of "Tic Tac Toe" racing style.
Being a sibling of a brother or sister with special needs can bring up a lot of different emotions. Today we took the time to share our experiences while playing "Wheel of Feelings". We are grateful our Sibshoppers were willing to share and connect with one another as they told of their experiences with pride, anger, fear, happiness, sadness.
Balloon Foot Volleyball was up next! Looks easy but it sure gets the muscles working and the heart pumping.
Multiple balloons made the game even more frantic--but fun.
We worked up quite the appetite during the volleyball game and everyone enjoyed our pizza and fruit lunch. We followed that with a silly game of "Don't Eat Pete!" that satisfied everyone's sweet tooth.
Our Sibshoppers wrote "Kindness Cards" to their siblings and other important people in their lives. It is always a rewarding exercise for the kids to look for the good and express it.
We finished out our March Sibshop with a spring themed tasty (very, very tasty) dessert.
