Welcome May!
Our Sibshoppers flexed their creative muscles as they sculpted figures of their choosing out of aluminum foil. The foil turned out to be both a challenging and forgiving medium.

As always, the creativity of our Sibshoppers is unsurpassed.
Our silly Sibshop version of musical chairs was up next. "Islands' means you dance around while the music plays and when it stops you work to secure a spot on a paper plate island before the other players. No island plate--no play. We had a great time moovin' and a groovin' outside.
"Walk A Mile in My Moccasins"
The Sibshoppers had some great ideas about what it means to walk a mile in someone's moccasins. These kids are generous in extending kindness, refraining from judgement and trying to better understand others circumstances.
Today we walked a mile in our siblings moccasins and considered how they felt with various circumstances in their lives.
We got outside and enjoyed the warm sunshine while we played a
super long and fun game of "Hula Hoop Showdown." It's a fun team variation of Rock, Papers, Scissors in a racing format. It took quite some time for us to crown a winner!
We took just a couple minutes to do some partner shadow tracing on this wonderfully warm Spring Day.
We've started a new journaling activity at Sibshops. We're creating our own gentle version of a "Slam Book." We get to read other siblings thoughts about their own sibs with special needs and then write out our own feelings in a journal. We hope to made this a tradition and fill up the journals over the next handful of months at our events.
Looking forward to seeing our Sibshoppers in June for a Deaf/Blind Simulation!
