February 2012

Happy Valentines to all of our sibshoppers and their families. We made some Valentines for our Sibs and decorated some cookies to eat and share with our sibs as well.
The boys got together and stayed together the entire time. NO GIRLS Allowed on the the couch!
We helped Aunt Blabby answer some of the questions about having a sibling with a disability and the pressure that it can cause our sibs.
Everyone put in some helpful advice and really did a good job answering these questions.

Can someone with a disability be an artist? YES! We all know someone who has overcome lots of odds and done some amazing things.
We put our Sibshop artists to the test with "Sightless Structure."

The artists and clay were blindfolded. Another person acted as the structure that the artist was going to imitate with their "ball of clay."
The artists did a great job imitating the structures with out any vision.

We played several other activities that we don't have pictures of but overall our sibshoppers had a great time and look forward to what next month has to bring.

January 2012

A new year of Sibshops has begun! We started it with celebrating the Chinese New Year!
We made dragon masks, but skipped the parade.

Chinese take-out a favorite amongst this group of kids.
A few tried their hand at Chopsticks,... and usually went back to forks and spoons.
We made "good-luck fish" with wishes for the new year on back.
We made wishes for ourselves and wishes for our siblings. We shared our wishes in groups after we were done.
Then on with the games.

Ker-plunk was a crowd favorite.
Uno (totally chinese)

And chinese checkers. We had a chopstick relay and played a few other games. It was a lot of fun and overall I think we really caught the chinese new year spirit. Thank you to all the volunteers and sibshoppers that showed up. We look forward to another great year.
